Motivation Monday: Know Your Value

I have been thinking for weeks now about how much I wanted to start a series called Motivation Monday, and we are finally here! My main goal for 2018 was to be super authentic with you guys. Sharing the good, bad, and the ugly of all things me and Blue Eyed Blondie. The first Monday of every month I will post a blog on challenges I have faced in my life hoping that you might grow from it. I even hope to bring in guest writers to share their struggles as well! At lot of praying, hard work, and grit has and will go into this series so make sure to subscribe so you never miss one! The first topic is going to be on value. Quick disclaimer is that I heard a preacher talk about this message recently and everything I am about to write about isn’t something I just came up with! I am in no way a preacher, I just felt like this message was WAY too good to be ignored! Without making you wait anymore, let’s dive in!

Matthew 22: 37-39 states, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength. This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is love your neighbor as yourself.” Let that sink in, as yourself. I constantly hear the saying “Love God, Love People,” which is a great saying but how can you love God and love people if you don’t yet love yourself? Ask yourself this, how can I surrender myself completely to God if I can’t self love?

Those struggling with self love means you struggle with valuing yourself. What things do you use to value yourself? Instagram likes/followers? Attention from boys? Having straight A’s? Let me tell you, those things might offer momentary happiness and fulfillment but in the long run, only God can offer that value you are truly craving. Think about this: “We devalue things we don’t yet know the value of.” The truth is, half of us don’t know the true value we actually are. If you aren’t valuing yourself correctly, then you aren’t valuing God or the others around you. You are a daughter of the most high King and your price was set when he gave himself up for you at the cross. God looked at every single one of you and said you are priceless. It took the creator of this entire Earth to pay for you. Next time you are at the party, or with that boy, remember your true value, and know you are so much more.

I hope you guys enjoyed this months edition of Motivation Monday! Don’t forget to subscribe so you never miss a post!

xo, Madison
